LONDON DROP A BOMBSHELL: Arsenal ‘expect to complete’ £51m transfer as Gunners tell Barcelona price for…

In a stunning development from the heart of London, Arsenal are poised to finalize a major £51m deal while simultaneously opening the door for a potential high-profile exit. According to exclusive reports, the Gunners have informed Barcelona of their asking price for Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli, signaling a possible summer shake-up at the Emirates.

Gabriel Martinelli, the 24-year-old Brazil international, has found himself relegated to the bench for much of the current season. Under manager Mikel Arteta, he's been handed just eight Premier League starts, a far cry from his starring role in previous campaigns. While Martinelli has been a reliable rotation option, rumors of his dissatisfaction and a potential departure have been swirling as Arsenal eye further squad reinforcements.

The Gunners splashed over £250m on new signings last summer, bolstering their ranks significantly. Despite this, Martinelli addressed speculation about his future while on international duty in September, emphasizing team depth over personal playing time.

"Regarding Arsenal, it's like here in the national team. If you ask me if it's good to have Vini or Rodrygo in the national team, I'll definitely say yes," Martinelli said. "Because he'll help the team to win titles. And if we want to win, we need quality players.

"It's the same with Arsenal. I'm very happy with Eze and Madueke's arrival as well. Trossard also plays on the left side. So, we're very happy when we have quality players by our side. We have a lot of matches in the season. A lot of things can happen, injuries, etc. So, we're happy for the club to be looking for the best players in the league so we can try to win."

However, interest in Martinelli has persisted. During the January transfer window, Bayern Munich expressed keen interest, holding "positive conversations" with his agents. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel: "Another player that was considered by Bayern for the winger position is Gabriel Martinelli. Bayern also spoke to the agents of Martinelli, it was a positive conversation but Martinelli is very happy at Arsenal and Arsenal showed no intention to accept anything close to €30m-€35m."

Romano added: "For them the player is worth WAY more and this is why the negotiation never advanced. But Martinelli was a serious target for Bayern at the beginning of the summer transfer window. Then, again, it didn't evolve because of financial reasons and also because Martinelli is comfortable at Arsenal."

Now, Spanish reports indicate that Barcelona are circling, eager to "capitalise on a favorable opportunity in London" to strengthen their attack for next season. The Catalan giants see Martinelli as a "unique market opportunity," especially as Arsenal contemplate selling assets to fund additional acquisitions.

Barcelona have been told Arsenal's asking price: around €45m (£39m). The Blaugrana are reportedly prepared to offer Martinelli the guaranteed starting role he craves, something Arsenal's crowded forward line may not provide. As per the reports: "Arsenal plans to revamp its wing positions with new signings, which necessitates the club generating significant revenue. Selling the Brazilian attacker for around £39 million would allow the English side to balance its books."

This potential sale comes as Arsenal gear up for their own big move. Football Transfers reports that the Gunners "expect to complete" the permanent signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie this summer. Currently on loan at Arsenal, the Ecuadorian has impressed sufficiently to warrant activation of his €52m buy clause. Combined with the initial loan fee, the total outlay will reach €58m (£51m).

Arsenal are set to offer Hincapie a lucrative £100k-per-week contract on a four-year deal, with an option for an additional year. This move underscores Arteta's vision for a robust defense, with Hincapie providing versatility and depth alongside stars like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal's strategy appears clear: invest in key areas while offloading surplus talent to maintain financial equilibrium. Martinelli's future hangs in the balance, but if Barcelona meet the £39m valuation, it could pave the way for a new chapter in Catalonia for the dynamic winger.

This bombshell from London highlights the ruthless nature of modern football, where even fan favorites like Martinelli aren't immune to the demands of squad evolution. Stay tuned for more developments as the transfer saga unfolds.
